Covidien Prevails in Patent Action against Applied Medical ResourcesMANSFIELD, Mass.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Covidien (NYSE: COV ), a leading global provider of healthcare products, announced that it has prevailed against Applied Medical Resources Corp. in a patent action before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
In granting Covidienís motion of summary judgment, the District Court ruled that Covidienís trocar products do not infringe Applied Medicalís patent. In May 2011, Applied Medical sued Covidien in connection with Covidienís sale of certain trocar products.
