Solvay Pharmaceuticals Names Harold H. Shlevin, Ph.D., as Global Senior Vice President
MARIETTA, Ga.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Jan. 19, 2006--Solvay Pharmaceuticals announced today the promotion of Harold H. Shlevin, Ph.D. to Global Senior Vice President of the newly formed global Regulatory, External Affairs, Safety and Quality Strategies (RESQS) organization effective Jan. 1, 2006 reporting to Dr. Werner Cautreels, global CEO of Solvay Pharmaceuticals. Shlevin formerly served as President and CEO of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in the United States and is succeeded by Laurence Downey, MD."The RESQS organization will align several important areas of the global Solvay Pharmaceuticals organization including global quality, global drug safety and surveillance, global regulatory affairs and external affairs," said Werner Cautreels, CEO, Solvay Pharmaceuticals. "Dr. Shlevin's experience and expertise is ideally suited to help structure the development and establishment of this newly-created organization."
An eight- year veteran of the company, Shlevin served as president and CEO of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in the U.S. since 2000, resulting in record growth. Prior to this he was with CIBA Vision Ophthalmic and Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association of America, National Pharmaceutical Council, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the board of visitors of Morehouse School of Medicine and the board of Cardiome Pharma.
