Baxter Names Karenann Terrell Chief Information Officer

DEERFIELD, Ill., March 30 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Baxter International Inc. (NYSE: BAX ) announced today the hiring of Karenann K. Terrell as the company's chief information officer. In this position Terrell will have global responsibility for information technology supporting all of Baxter's businesses worldwide, including its manufacturing, science and technology, and supply chain operations. She will assume her role on April 10, and is expected to be appointed as a corporate officer of Baxter.

"In addition to her primary responsibility of managing our information technology organization, she will bring valuable expertise to our efforts to support and improve business processes across the company."

Terrell comes to Baxter from DaimlerChrysler Corporation, where she spent the last six years in managerial positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, she was vice president and chief information officer, Chrysler Group and Mercedes Benz North America. Prior to this, Terrell spent 16 years at General Motors, beginning as an engineer working on hybrid electric vehicles before taking on brand development and e-business management responsibilities.

Terrell received her master's degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University after graduating from General Motors Institute with a bachelor of science degree in the same field.
