BIOLASE Appoints Keith G. Bateman as Executive Vice President, Global Sales and MarketingIRVINE, CA--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--May 17, 2006 -- BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NasdaqNM:BLTI ), a medical technology company that develops, manufactures and markets lasers and related products focused on technologies for improved applications and procedures in dentistry and medicine, announced today the appointment of Keith G. Bateman as Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. Mr. Bateman was previously serving as the Company's Executive Vice President, Marketing.
"I greatly appreciate Keith's valuable contributions in our marketing efforts over the past year. Keith was responsible for sales from 1999 to 2004, during which time the Company successfully grew revenues at a compound annual growth rate of greater than 50%. I am convinced that his appointment to EVP of Global Sales and Marketing is the correct strategy to return BIOLASE to significant revenue growth," said Jeffrey W. Jones, President and CEO.
Mr. Bateman is a proven executive with extensive experience in marketing to the dental laser market. Since joining the Company in January 1999, Mr. Bateman's sales and marketing efforts have been critical to BIOLASE's achievement of building the most recognized brand for lasers in the dental market. Prior to joining BIOLASE, Mr. Bateman held key executive positions with HGM Medical Lasers' international and domestic divisions. Also, Mr. Bateman was a driving force behind the formation of the World Clinical Laser Institute, the largest dental laser teaching organization in the world. He is a graduate of the University of Utah.
As part of his new position, Keith will assume responsibility for the Company's global sales team, a responsibility previously held by James M. Haefner. Mr. Haefner has resigned from the Company to pursue other opportunities.
