Viking Systems, Inc. Appoints Donald E. Tucker President and Chief Executive Officer

SAN DIEGO--(HSMN NewsFeed)--May 31, 2006--Viking Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: VKSY ) has appointed Donald E. Tucker as President and Chief Executive Officer. He will also join the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Tucker brings to Viking Systems over 25 years of executive level management and health care products strategic business consulting experience.

Mr. Tucker will coordinate the growth of the Company's medical technology business by further developing its branded solution portfolio and expanding the Company's sales and distribution capabilities. Viking's proprietary EndoSite 3Di and 2Di Digital Visual Systems are the Company's core technologies, used by surgeons for minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. Essential to the growth of Viking Systems, Mr. Tucker will also focus on continuing to expand the Company's successful original equipment manufacturing (OEM) business division, through which it designs, assembles and manufacturers cameras and other components for world-class medical instrument companies.

Mr. Tucker recently retired as a partner and senior executive of Accenture, a leading global consulting company. During his 26-year career with Accenture, Mr. Tucker served as Managing Partner for the Company's Medical Products, Diagnostics and Devices industry segments, as well as Lead Partner for its West Coast Biopharmaceutical market. He specialized in product and market development, supply chain management, and strategy formulation.

Mr. Tucker is an executive advisor and board member to a number of associations in the Life Sciences industry, and is a leading speaker in the field. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Michigan University. He is a majority shareholder in Viking Systems.
