Critical Therapeutics Announces Change in Leadership of Specialty Sales Force

LEXINGTON, Mass.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--July 18, 2006--Critical Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRTX ) today announced that Vice President of Sales, Anne M. Fields, has resigned to accept the position of National Sales Director with a large biotechnology company based on the West Coast.

Critical Therapeutics' specialty sales force, which markets its asthma drug, ZYFLO® (zileuton tablets), will be led by an internal sales management team composed of its current business unit directors on the East and West Coasts. Critical Therapeutics Executive Chairman, Robert Zeiger, who has more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience, will work closely with the new sales management team and focus on commercial strategy and organization. The Company will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of this structure and augment the sales management team with additional expertise as needed.
