Merit Medical Introduces Resolve(R) Drainage Catheter

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Sept. 6, 2006--Merit Medical Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: MMSI ), a manufacturer and marketer of proprietary disposable accessories used primarily in cardiology and radiology procedures, announced today the market introduction of the Resolve® drainage catheter. The catheter is used in various procedures to drain undesirable fluids from the human body.

"The Resolve® has been an engineering challenge due to its small profile and demanding specifications," said Fred P. Lampropoulos, Merit's chairman and CEO. "After lengthy trials and customer input we believe we have introduced a proprietary product that will become a market leader."

The Resolve® will complement Merit's existing access products as well as the Revolution(TM) and StayFix® catheter fixation devices. Other Merit products such as the Merit Disposal Depot(TM) and various connection systems will also see increased demand.

Merit will introduce the Resolve® to the European market at the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) meeting being held Sept. 9-13 in Rome.
