Spacelabs Healthcare Launches Advanced Anesthesia System in the North American MarketHAWTHORNE, CA--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Oct 16, 2006 -- Spacelabs Healthcare, Inc., (London:SLAB.L ) an international medical equipment company listed on the London AIM market, announced today that it has launched its advanced anesthesia system, BleaseSirius(TM) and UltraviewSL Perioperative Monitoring Suite in the North American market. The system was launched at the American Society of Anesthesiologists meeting, being held in Chicago from October 14th to October 18th.
The advanced BleaseSirius(TM) anesthesia system features advanced ventilation, enabling clinicians to set up the ventilator to match both clinical and patient needs with the high degree of precision usually associated with Intensive Care. The recently introduced Blease ventilators provide Precision Pressure Control Ventilation(TM) (PPCV), which further enhances the performance, safety and precision of the ventilator by actively controlling flow into and out of the ventilation drive system throughout the entire respiratory cycle.
In conjunction with the launch of the advanced BleaseSirius(TM) anesthesia system, Spacelabs Healthcare is introducing the UltraviewSL Perioperative Monitoring Suite, consisting of a Multigas Analyzer, Perioperative software and BISx module. The Multigas Analyzer measures O2, CO2, N2O and five anesthetic agents, with the ability to identify mixed agents. The software's offerings include a start/end case feature that provides an easy transition between the setup, start and end of a procedure, with one-button commands for each, while the BISx module provides information on patient sedation.
Spacelabs Healthcare CEO, Mr. Deepak Chopra, said, "We are excited to be introducing the advanced BleaseSirius(TM) anesthesia system into the North American market, the largest market for anesthesia systems in the world. This is the first Blease anesthesia system to be available in the North American market after a successful sixty year history of developing and selling anesthesia systems internationally. We intend to utilize our strong existing infrastructure to make the launch a success."
