DALLAS--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Bone Solutions Inc. (BSI) announced today that its board of directors has elected Stephen A. Schendel, M.D., D.D.S., Professor and former Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center, as BSI's first Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective immediately.

"This event represents a significant milestone for our Company, considering Dr. Schendel's status as one of the most recognized craniofacial and maxillofacial surgeons in the world," said John Albers, Chief Executive Officer of Bone Solutions Inc.

"Certainly, the timing of Dr. Schendel's election as BSI's Chief Medical Officer is propitious," added Mr. Albers. "Our BioHesive technology is well-positioned as a 'platform' for new approaches to orthopedic surgery repair. We have accelerated its testing for FDA clearance--initially as a bone filler, under existing protocols for bone fillers by the FDA; and thereafter as a cement, a dental cement, and anchor. Upon regulatory approval, we will commence sales efforts in human markets, and we are presently discussing a distribution arrangement for global deployment in veterinary markets. We are in discussions with companies that constitute more than 90 percent of the orthopedics industry worldwide to explore the opportunity for strategic alliances. These initially focused target verticals include all extremities, maxillofacial/cranial, periodontics/dental, shoulder- and knee-related surgical procedures, and current testing for spinal applications and musculoskeletal transplant uses--which is why we are extremely pleased that Dr. Schendel has joined us."

Dr. Schendel has been a full-time faculty member of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical School since 1989. He is a Professor and former Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center. He is also former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital and Chief of Surgery. He is currently Director of the Craniofacial Surgery Program at this hospital. He is board-certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Plastic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics.

About Bone Solutions Inc.

Bone Solutions Inc. ('BSI') is establishing its BioHesive(TM) platform as the 'one stop bone-, tendon- and ligament-injectable, biodegradable adhesive technology' for surgeries at hospitals, clinics and other private surgical centers within the orthopedics industry. The Company believes it is revolutionizing a new solution for orthopedic surgeons for both human and veterinary uses with a magnesium-based compound that can attach--for the first time in orthopedic medical history--bone to bone, as well as ligaments and tendons to bone. The first application of BioHesive(TM), called OsteoCrete(TM) for human applications, is expected to fill a current void in medical procedures by improving upon all existing filler/cement devices with its bioadhesive, bioabsorbable qualities to more effectively repair, at lower cost, most non-load-bearing injuries--a potential global market opportunity in excess of $500 million annually.
