Cook Incorporated Introduces Arndt Endobronchial Blocker with Replaceable Snare to Enhance Precise Placement
Company's Latest Airway Device Features Replaceable Snare to Promote More Accurate Placement of BlockerBLOOMINGTON, Ind.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Cook Incorporated, the world's largest privately owned medical device manufacturer, today released the Cook Arndt Endobronchial Blocker with a replaceable snare to promote more precise placement of the blocker during one-lung ventilation procedures.
This latest version of the 9 French Arndt Endobronchial Blocker, has a replaceable snare to improve ease-of-use and accuracy of device placement. The unique replaceable snare, coupled with a pediatric fiberoptic bronchoscope allows precise placement or repositioning while helping to reduce the risk of trauma to the bronchus during thoracic procedures.
"Cook's Arndt Endobronchial Blocker provides physicians with an advanced and effective alternative for lung separation in patients with difficult airways," said Bruce Gingles, Global Leader of Cook Critical Care. "This new, enhanced feature ultimately allows physicians to achieve even greater precision with the blocker during complex thoracic procedures."
The Arndt Endobronchial Blocker is placed coaxially through a conventional endotracheal tube using a pediatric bronchoscope. The Arndt's single-lumen endotracheal tube eliminates potential loss of the airway, while the low-pressure, high-volume balloon creates strong surface area contact with the inner bronchial wall. The Arndt Endobronchial Blocker also allows for quick and easy inspection of post-surgical anatomy.

The Cook Arndt Endobronchial Blocker with replaceable snare is available for immediate shipment.
