PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Dec. 5 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- MediSys Corporation (Pink Sheets: MDYS ) announced today that it has appointed Alan H. Weigand, MD, as the Company's new Director of Clinical Education. Dr. Weigand, who currently sits on the Clinical Advisory Board, is scheduled to assume this additional role and take on its varied responsibilities beginning January 2, 2007.Dr. Weigand's new role with MediSys, Director of Clinical Education, was created to offer the Company's physician-clients access to an expert on erectile dysfunction studies, as well as to make available a physician liaison for the Company's MaXLIFe Center for Men(TM) program. In this role, he will offer assistance to physician-clients regarding the addition of a mens' health component to their existing practice.
According to Joshua Konigsberg, CEO of MediSys Corporation, "Bringing aboard someone of Dr. Weigand's stature and experience is invaluable, as it will help us better educate the medical community on the MediSys vision and the many benefits of the MaXLIFe Center for Men program. His research and studies on erectile dysfunction could not be more relevant to our core program. His presence will serve to enhance our marketing activities, and should also play a role in the rapid expansion of our centers nationwide."
Dr. Weigand commented, "I consider this position an opportunity to not only assist MediSys Corporation, but even more importantly, to help teach physicians nationwide how to experience increased success from their medical practice. In today's family practice environment, it is critical for physicians to seek alternative and additional revenue sources, such as that offered by MediSys and the MaXLIFe Center for Men. The net result for these physicians will be the ability to stabilize practice profits, as well as increase overall earnings."
