Premier Expands B. Braun Contract to Include Disposable Renal Division Products
Contract Increases B. Braun Presence in Renal Care Market, Aids Hospital Cost ContainmentBETHLEHEM, Pa.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--B. Braun Medical Inc., a global leader in innovative healthcare products and services, announced today that Premier Purchasing Partners, LP, the healthcare group purchasing unit of Premier, Inc., awarded B. Braun a contract for supply of disposable renal therapy products to all U.S. Premier members. The contract, which goes into effect November 1, 2006, is an addendum to a five-year agreement encompassing all major B. Braun Medical infusion products.
The new agreement ensures Premier members will have access to B. Braun's award-winning disposable renal therapy products, including DiaLines® SAF T Bloodlines, ULTRASITE® Valve, DUOSOL(TM) CRRT Solution, and Filter Straw®, among others. The new contract for renal therapy products, valid through 2009, follows a 2004 five-year agreement which provides Premier member institutions access to all major B. Braun infusion products.
The B. Braun Renal Therapies Division (RTD) is committed to the development of new techniques and innovations for dialysis and renal replacement therapy that improve patient care and offer more ways to meet the challenging demands of nephrology. RTD provides equipment and related disposable products to treat chronic renal failure through hemodialysis, and acute kidney failure through continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). The Renal Therapies Division of B. Braun has been serving the U.S. chronic and acute dialysis markets for over 10 years.
