Adolor Elects Michael R. Dougherty Chief Executive Officer
EXTON, Pa.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Adolor Corporation (Nasdaq: ADLR ) announced today that Michael R. Dougherty, the company's current senior vice president and chief operating officer, was elected president and chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dougherty succeeds David Madden who has served as interim president and chief executive officer since August 2005. Mr. Dougherty, 48, has more than 20 years of experience in various senior management positions at successful entrepreneurial healthcare companies. Mr. Dougherty joined Adolor in November 2002 as senior vice president of commercial operations. He was elected senior vice president and chief operating officer in November 2005. Mr. Dougherty joined Adolor from Genomics Collaborative, Inc., a privately held functional genomics company, where he was president and chief operating officer. From 1993 to 2000, Mr. Dougherty held senior positions with Magainin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., now Genaera Corporation, including president and chief executive officer. Prior to that, Mr. Dougherty was chief financial officer and senior vice president of Centocor, Inc., now a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.
