Revolutions Medical Corporation Acquires Clear Image Acquisition Corporation
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., Jan. 30 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Revolutions Medical Corporation (OTC: RMCP ) announces the acquisition of all assets of Clear Image Acquisition Corporation of Lexington, MA effective January 31, 2007. Revolutions Medical (Rev Med) will now have access to a working integration of software and hardware, compatible with all standard MRI systems, that interfaces with MRI industry's standard Picture Archiving Computer System (PACS). This gives Rev Med a strong proprietary position in the marketplace.Rev Med now has a true automatic segmentation process. Rev Med has documentary evidence of the clinical utility of this unique methodology in differentiating between specific masses and lesions. Rev Med's new software can also create 3D images of MRI scans, in color as well as gray scale, using automatic segmentation. This creates a breakthrough software tool that will be available to every Picture Archiving Computer System (PACS) throughout the world.
According to Ron Wheet, CEO Revolutions Medical Corporation: "The number of radiologists and neuroradiologists has been decreasing while the number of MRI procedures has been increasing dramatically. Rev Med's new technologies will decrease the process of manually reviewing MRI images, will reduce the time necessary to rule out any abnormalities in the normal image, will reduce possible error rates, and finally will enhance overall diagnostic confidence."
There are also new provisional patents, filed in June 2006, providing a system for and method of diagnostic coding using medical image data, increasing the efficiency of a diagnostic review of medical images, and performing a medical diagnosis. In addition, the amount of MRI procedures has been growing at 15% per year with more than 20 million procedures in 2004. This acquisition puts Rev Med, with its new technologies, providing software solutions for one of the fastest growing and largest markets in the medical industry.
