Solos Endoscopy, Inc. Signs Contract to Manufacture and Distribute Innovative Medical Documentation Device
BOSTON, MA--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Feb 15, 2007 -- Solos Endoscopy, Inc. (Other OTC:SLSY.PK ) is pleased to announce that it has signed a multi-year contract to manufacture and distribute the Camera Light Link (CLL) from Dynamic Surgical Inventions, LLC. The Camera Light Link is a disposable camera mounting device used during open surgery to fasten a standard endoscopic camera to an operating room light handle. Solos Endoscopy, Inc. sees the CLL as a complement to its line of digital recording equipment and expects the device to be available sometime in the 2nd Quarter 2007.The Camera Light Link was developed in response to the need for a convenient and economical way to photographically document open surgical procedures. There is a growing demand for photographic and video documentation of medical procedures. It is estimated that the CLL could enable video imaging and documentation in over 10,000,000 open surgical procedures per year worldwide. The disposable CLL works in conjunction with most medical endoscopic video cameras, a disposable camera drape and an operating room light handle. The device enables imaging for most open surgery that is equivalent to endoscopic imaging by leveraging the installed equipment. The CLL was developed by Michael A. Goldfarb, M.D., Chairman of a department of surgery at a New Jersey medical center.
"This is a product that is vital to medical documentation and it is a key addition to our line of products. We are excited about the Camera Light Link (CLL) and the role that it plays in the expansion of our imaging product line into the non-endoscopic, or open procedures, market," stated Bob Segersten, President of Solos Endoscopy, Inc.
"Currently, photography of open surgery is usually done in one of three ways. Nurses or doctors may break scrub and use hand held cameras. Another method uses installed cameras in light handles which are a large capital expense and may not be portable. Finally, surgeons can use over-head installed room cameras for video monitoring which are expensive, not portable, and not always focused on the operative field. With the CLL, any room that has an endoscopic camera and a light handle can achieve high quality imaging. Every member of the surgical team can follow and record the procedure, just as operating teams are accustomed to with endoscopic surgery," stated Stephen Chagares, M.D., an experienced general surgeon.
