NeuroLogica's CereTom(R) To Be At Indianapolis 500
CereTom Selected For Its Easy Portability and Ability to Provide Rapid On Site CT ScansDANVERS, Mass.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--NeuroLogica Corporation, a neuroscience-based medical imaging company, today announced that its CereTom® CT scanner will be on site to support the emergency response team for the Indianapolis 500 racing events Friday, May 25 through Sunday, May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The CereTom will be available at the infield of the racetrack to scan racers and spectators if necessary.
NeuroLogica, in partnership with Methodist Hospital and Clarian Health, has been named part of the emergency medical response team for the race. The CereTom will be located in a Neuro Trauma Rescue Vehicle donated by NeuroLogica and operated by physicians from Methodist Hospital. The Neuro Trauma Vehicle represents the CereTom as an emergency response product that is being examined by several leading medical facilities in the U.S. This would allow on-demand neurological CT to be performed during transport to a medical facility reducing the door scan time and allowing for a rapid treatment plan upon arrival.
Neurostar Solutions of Atlanta, in collaboration with NeuroLogica, will be providing its innovative image management technology that makes it possible to securely deliver studies from the CT at the racetrack to radiologists at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Thanks to this service, authorized users anywhere on the Internet can have access to the data and collaborate real-time.

The CereTom is optimal for use in sporting events because it is portable, lightweight, wireless allowing for immediate access to a timely CT scan, allowing for a full neurological scan in 30 seconds. This is critical, especially in the event of brain injury, as the image and corresponding readings can then be transmitted to the facility that will receive the athlete upon transport. The CereTom portable CT Scanner shortens the 'track-to-scan' time, putting an injured person on the best path to treatment, eliminating the need to transport first and scan once the person has been transported.
