Intraosseous Device Company Vidacare(R) Appoints Medical DirectorDr. Jullette Saussy Brings EMS Expertise to Executive Team
SAN ANTONIO--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Vidacare®, the leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of advanced intraosseous access technology for multiple diagnostic, monitoring and therapeutic applications, today announced the appointment of Jullette M. Saussy, M.D., as medical director.
Dr. Saussy will support Vidacare's professional services teams to help customers attain the full benefits of improved intraosseous vascular access in the pre-hospital and hospital markets. Additionally, her responsibilities will include peer-to-peer outreach, education and business development.
Dr. Saussy, a board-certified emergency physician, brings to the Vidacare team more than 12 years' experience directing Emergency Medical Systems. Since 2004, Dr. Saussy has served in multiple EMS leadership positions for the City of New Orleans, including serving as the director and medical director of EMS and medical director for the New Orleans Fire Department. She will continue to serve as EMS director for the City of New Orleans while undertaking her new responsibilities for Vidacare.

Dr. Saussy is an assistant clinical professor of Medicine in the Section of Emergency Medicine at the Medical Center of Louisiana (formerly Charity Hospital), a Level I Trauma Center which, prior to Katrina, processed an average of over 300,000 visits per year. Dr. Saussy has also served as director of medical evacuation planning for the City of New Orleans since 2005, and has worked on MMRS strategic planning as well as the UASI strategic plan and is currently the ESF-8 lead for the City of New Orleans in line with the National Response Plan. She began her career as a nationally registered paramedic for the City of New Orleans prior to entering Medical School in 1990. She attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans and completed her pre- and post-graduate training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She has three teenage daughters and currently resides in New Orleans, LA.
