InnerPulse Inc. Appoints W. Eugene Sanders, Jr., M.D. as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., July 10 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- InnerPulse, Inc., a privately held company with a disruptive technology for the treatment of abnormal heart rhythms, announced the appointment of W. Eugene Sanders, Jr., M.D. to the newly formed position of Vice-President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, effective September 2007. Dr. Sanders has more than 15 years of experience in cardiology and related medical specialties including patient care, education and cardiac research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Sanders, 48, currently serves as Director, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing; Associate Director, Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Interventional Laboratories; and, Associate Professor of Medicine & Pathology, Division of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals.

Dr. Sanders is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, School of Medicine. He also holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry and a master's in business administration from the University of North Carolina. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of North Carolina and fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology at Baylor College of Medicine and Duke University Medical Center.
