MinSurg Announces Director of Clinical Services
CLEARWATER, Fla., July 19 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Clearwater-based minSURG Corporation announced the appointment of Dr. Bernard Guiot, M.D. as the new Director of Clinical Services for their TruFUSE (TM) line of Spinal Fixation alternatives for minimally invasive back surgery.CEO James Doulgeris said, "We are happy to have such an accomplished surgeon as our director of clinical services. Dr. Guiot is a seasoned neurosurgeon with an array of experiences ranging from teaching to research. We are proud to have him on our team. He will help to raise TruFUSE to an entirely new level. His duties with minSURG will primarily focus on clinical studies, surgeon training and research and development."
Dr. Guiot is a board certified fellowship trained Spinal Neurosurgeon with a specific interest in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He formerly served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, and as Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine. He also held other positions there including Medical Director of the Spinal Biomechanics Lab, Director of the Spine Cadaveric Teaching Lab and Director of the Spine Fellowship Program. In addition to his clinical and teaching duties, Dr. Guiot is extensively published in the area of spine.
He is a member of numerous prestigious medical organizations including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Joint Section on the Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Fellow), the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Medical Council of Canada. He has served on numerous committees including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Educational Committee, the Florida Department of Health Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Advisory Council and the University of Florida Human Brain Tissue Bank Advisory Board, just to name a few.
He is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners (FLEX) and the Medical Council of Canada.
