Calypso(R) Medical Announces Intent to Interface with Treatment Solutions from Varian Medical Systems
SEATTLE--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Calypso® Medical today is announcing its intent to interface the company's Calypso® 4D Localization System to Varian's treatment planning system and linear accelerators to support precise radiotherapy treatments for cancer patients. The Calypso System will be interfaced with Varian's Eclipse® in the initial product launch. Future products will be developed with 4D Integrated Treatment® console to give clinicians additional capabilities for patient positioning, motion management and tumor targeting."The relationship between Calypso Medical and Varian products will enable radiation oncology centers to benefit from innovative tumor positioning and monitoring technologies from both companies. This will help to ensure that clinical solutions can be smoothly implemented into clinical practice," said Eric R. Meier, Calypso Medical chief executive officer and president.
Calypso Medical intends to collaborate with Varian Medical Systems on patient positioning, motion management, and tumor targeting solutions throughout treatment delivery.
