Premier Selects Oncura(TM) to Provide Membership with Exclusive Prostate Brachytherapy Products Under New Three-Year Agreement
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., July 23 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- ONCURA, the leading provider of brachytherapy products, announced a new three-year brachytherapy award to provide Premier member hospital's with ONCURA's complete line of brachytherapy seeds products. Premier Inc. is one of the largest healthcare group purchasing organizations in the United States.Premier's Radiation Oncology and Imaging Committees developed the recommendation for ONCURA's product line. Consisting of hospital staff with expertise in radiation oncology, medical physics, administration, and finance; the group determined that the products and the company's response to Premier's request for contract proposals best met members' clinical needs. The agreement will begin on August 1, 2007, and will run for a three-year term. The new agreement offers Premier's membership access to the most complete and clinically proven brachytherapy product line.
Under the terms of the agreement, ONCURA will provide Premier's membership with access to its iodine-125 brachytherapy portfolio. OncoSeed(TM) is the leading prostate brachytherapy seed, and the only seed with fifteen years of peer-reviewed and published clinical data. RAPID Strand(TM) and RAPID Strand Rx are innovative brachytherapy products associated with improved radiation delivery; which in turn correlates with improved patient outcomes. RAPID Strand shares the same long-term clinical data offered by OncoSeed. The agreement also includes Prospera® Palladium-103 products.
