STD Med, Inc. Moves Forward with its South American Distribution Arm, Blue Sky Medical S.A.STOUGHTON, Mass., July 24 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- STD Med, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of medical devices based in Stoughton, Massachusetts, announces its entrance into the South American medical device distribution market with its newest and 5th start-up company "Blue Sky Medical S.A.".
There are 4 other companies incubated and spun-out of STD Med., Inc. Angiolink Corporation, a developer of a femoral artery closure technology, was acquired by Medtronic, Inc. in November 2004. Arthrosurface, Inc., Franklin, MA, specializes in the repair of early stage cartilage damage. Spirus Medical, Inc. is a developer of a revolutionary intra-luminal advancement system. And most recently, Cardiosolutions, Inc. which is currently developing a minimally invasive heart repair system to aid patients with Mitral Valve regurgitation.

This new market for STD Med, allows the Company to compete in the direct-to-hospital sales arena, which is typically off-limits to OEM manufacturers in the US. This new endeavor is also expected to open doors for STD to compete in other new evolving global markets.
Blue Sky Medical S.A. is located in Asuncion, Paraguay and began distributing medical devices for STD Med, Inc. in South and Central America in July 2007.
