Home Diagnostics Appoints Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Home Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq:HDIX ), a leading manufacturer and marketer of diabetes testing supplies, announced today that Scott I. Verner has joined the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mr. Verner will oversee Home Diagnostics' sales and marketing teams.

Mr. Verner brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience to Home Diagnostics. Previously Mr. Verner was the vice president of sales and corporate vice president for EyeTel Imaging, a joint venture of Radius Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Johns Hopkins and Eli Lilly, focused on developing technologies to treat diabetes and micro-vascular disease. During his tenure at EyeTel Imaging, Mr. Verner was responsible for the performance of the company's sales, telesales, marketing and national account and disease management teams. Mr. Verner also played key roles in re-organizing the company's North American sales force and reimbursement teams, establishing its distributor program and managing its medical scientific advisory board.

Prior to EyeTel Imaging, Mr. Verner worked for Allergan, Inc. where he was instrumental in leading the spin-off of Advanced Medical Optics (AMO). As U.S. Region Manager for AMO, Mr. Verner was charged with implementing the sales programs and metrics for the newly formed company, as well as establishing the company's professional sales organization.

Before Allergan, Mr. Verner spent 12 years at Novartis where he held several sales and marketing positions within the company's medical device, OTC and vision businesses.
