Pathway Medical Adds Medical Device Veteran Paul Buckman to Board of Directors, Appoints Vice President of Manufacturing

REDMOND, Wash.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Pathway Medical, developer of medical devices to treat arterial disease, today announced that Paul Buckman has joined its Board of Directors. The company also announced that it has hired John Yaholkovsky as the company's new Vice President of Manufacturing. "We are excited to welcome the addition of these two individuals who have such a strong history of delivering results in the medical industry," noted Tom Clement, Pathway Medical's President and CEO. "Both Paul and John bring significant experience that will help us successfully commercialize the Pathway PV atherectomy system."


Since late 2006, Paul Buckman has served as Chief Executive Officer and Board member of Devax, Inc., a development-stage cardiovascular device company. Prior to that, he served as President of the Cardiology Division and an Executive Officer of St. Jude Medical, Inc., a diversified medical products company. Before St. Jude Medical, Paul served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of ev3, LLC, a Minnesota-based medical device company focused on endovascular therapies, which he co-founded.

Paul has worked in the medical device industry for over 30 years, including 10 years at Scimed Life Systems, Inc. and Boston Scientific Corporation, where he held several executive positions before becoming President of the Scimed Division. He has also served as a Board member of EndiCor, Inc., Microvena, Inc., Micro Therapeutics, Inc., and Velocimed, Inc., which he co-founded.

John Yaholkovsky Joins Pathway Medicals Management Team

Another addition to the Pathway Medical team is John Yaholkovsky, the company's new Vice President of Manufacturing. John joins Pathway Medical with over 25 years of experience in medical device and electronics manufacturing and engineering. Previously he served as Senior Director of Operations for Applied Precision, a company that develops and manufactures high-performance image acquisition and analysis systems. Prior to working at Applied Precision, he held various positions, including Senior Director of Operations at HeaRT Technology, Program Manager for Intermec Corporations, and Manufacturing Manager for Abbott Research.
