Thermage Launches Premium ThermaTip STC

Designed for Faster Procedures and Improved Patient Outcomes

HAYWARD, Calif., Aug. 2 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Thermage (Nasdaq: THRM ) today introduced the new ThermaTip(TM) STC treatment tip designed to promote substantial treatment time savings and help improve patient outcomes. The ThermaTip STC (Smoothing, Tightening and Contouring) treatment tip is a premium version of the existing ThermaTip TC with modified temperature parameters. The STC parameters allow a greater volume of tissue to be heated, while still safely protecting the epidermis. Increased heat delivery in the dermal layer helps improve smoothing and tightening at the superficial level of the skin while maintaining Thermage's superior depth of heating to contour tissue.

"The ThermaTip STC demonstrates our continued commitment to provide innovative products to improve the treatment experience for clinicians and their patients," said Stephen J. Fanning, president and chief executive officer at Thermage. "Thermage is the gold standard for non-invasive skin tightening, and we anticipate the new tip will appeal to clinicians seeking to reduce treatment time, increase the profitability of their practice and promote improved patient outcomes."

In pre-market evaluations, the new ThermaTip STC showed significant time-savings of up to 25 percent. When used in combination with the ThermaCool® NXT(TM) system, many clinicians were able to complete a Face by Thermage(TM) procedure in under 45 minutes. By treating a greater volume of tissue, the target zone for skin tightening is increased.

"I delivered 900 pulses in 50 minutes with the new tip," said Lisa Zdinak M.D. Oculoplastic Surgeon, New York, NY, when comparing with the current tip, "and saw dramatic, immediate tightening effects in my patients. I would not go back to the old tips."

The ThermaTip STC will be available to customers worldwide immediately.

Thermage is a safe, non-invasive way to tighten and contour skin, and promote the rejuvenation of collagen. The Thermage® procedure is administered in a doctor's office using the ThermaCool® system that utilizes a unique form of capacitive radiofrequency technology to tighten existing collagen and stimulate new natural collagen growth.
