NeoGuide Systems Names Jim Talbot Vice President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--NeoGuide Systems Inc., a developer of technology to prevent and treat colorectal cancer, has announced the appointment of Jim Talbot to vice president, quality and regulatory affairs. In this role, he will oversee all aspects of the company's quality assurance and control system and will manage the regulatory approval process for new products in the U.S. and abroad.

"Jim's deep experience and solid understanding of the medical device landscape make him uniquely qualified to fill this important role at NeoGuide," said Austin Noll, president and chief executive officer of NeoGuide. "His strategic leadership in the areas of quality and regulatory affairs will be critical as we prepare the company for commercialization and rapid growth."

Talbot brings more than 25 years of experience in quality, reliability and regulatory affairs to NeoGuide. He most recently served as director of quality at Boston Scientific's Fremont, Calif. facility, where he oversaw the design and development of the company's neurological catheters, GDC coils and interventional ultrasound products. Prior to Boston Scientific, he was vice president of quality and regulatory affairs for Cutera, a provider of laser and other light-based products for the aesthetic market. He has also held senior quality and regulatory positions at Cytyc Surgical Products, Siemens Ultrasound, Nellcor and Hewlett-Packard. He received a bachelor's degree in physics from the State University of New York at Potsdam and a master's degree in physics from Syracuse University.

"NeoGuide's significant technological advantage, strong senior management team and collaborative environment were all key factors in my decision to join the company," said Talbot. "I believe that NeoGuide has a tremendous opportunity to positively impact not only the future of colonoscopy, but also the way that general surgery is performed."

NeoGuide is developing the NeoGuide Endoscopy System, a computer-assisted colonoscopy system designed to enhance physician control of the colonoscope and to eliminate looping, the principle limitation of the conventional colonoscopy procedure.
