Defibtech Ships 50,000th Automated External Defibrillator

The company's defibrillators, which revive victims of sudden cardiac arrest, are marketed under the brand names of Lifeline(TM) and ReviveR(TM)."Our defibrillators have saved numerous lives around the world," said Defibtech CEO Glenn W. According to Defibtech President Gintaras Vaisnys, who co-founded the company with Dr. Laub, the company's defibrillators have been extremely well received worldwide and are deployed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe; in China, India, the Middle East and other parts of Asia; and in Australia, South America and Africa. AEDs revive victims of sudden cardiac arrest caused by ventricular fibrillation. Health experts estimate that sudden cardiac arrest kills more than 400,000 people in the United States alone. Studies show that if victims are defibrillated within a minute or two after arrest, more than 70 percent survive. If defibrillation is delayed for more than 10 minutes, only 5 percent live, making immediate access to AEDs vital.
