DORO (R) CereTom (R) Allows On-Demand CT Scanning with Real-Time Diagnostics in Operating Room

NeuroLogica Corporation and pro med instruments, Inc. Launch Intraoperative Cranial Stabilization System for use with Portable CT Scanner

DANVERS, Mass.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--NeuroLogica Corporation in partnership with pro med instruments, Inc. (PMI) today announced the launch of the DORO® CereTom® Intraoperative Cranial Stabilization System. The DORO CereTom provides real time CT scanning for both invasive and non-invasive applications for head and neck surgery. It can easily be adapted to all standard operating tables and provides optimum patient positioning. The launch of the DORO CereTom will take place at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA - September 15-20th 2007.

It is not uncommon with neurosurgical procedures for the patient to receive a CT scan immediately following surgery. This can delay the completion of the procedure and also involves moving the patient out of the operating room and transporting them to the hospital's scanner. The DORO CereTom allows for precision monitoring without disrupting the procedure. In addition, the high-quality images may improve clinical outcome due to real-time diagnostic information while enabling greater patient safety and comfort.

"The portability of the CereTom in combination with the DORO cranial stabilizer allows for improved operating room workflow while providing increased patient safety," said Eric Bailey, President and Co-Founder of NeuroLogica Corp. "The high-quality images enables physicians to make more informed decisions when time is of the essence."

The DORO CereTom is adjustable to fit both adult and pediatric patients and is now available to hospitals across the country. For more information on the DORO CereTom, please visit www.neurologica.com.
