News Release - September 25, 2007
Paul Sendro Joins Vertebron Inc. As President and CEOSTRATFORD, Conn.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Vertebron, Inc., a privately held U.S. based spinal implant manufacturer, announced today that Paul Sendro has joined the company as its President and Chief Executive Officer.
"Paul has a distinguished career in the medical device industry. He was most recently at Blackstone Medical where he grew that company's sales from $3 million to $90 million, leading up to its acquisition by Orthofix" said Bruce Khalili, the company's current President and CEO. "His expertise will expedite Vertebron's development into a market leader."
"Since the Blackstone merger with Orthofix, I have had a year to research many companies in the spinal implant and medical device markets," said Sendro. "None had the potential of Vertebron. With its war chest of IP and key spinal surgeons -- such as Dr. Alex Vaccaro on their medical advisory board -- Vertebron is poised to be a key growth company in the spinal market."
Mr. Khalili, a founder of the company and inventor of much of the company's intellectual property, added, "With Paul running the company, I can devote my time to working closely with our Medical Advisory Board, and our clinicians, to bring our current IP to market and help develop new solutions for spine surgery."
"Mr. Khalili's continued commitment to developing simple, easy to use, innovative products for the spinal market will give Vertebron the competitive edge it needs to be successful in spine," said Sendro. "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work with this team."
