About Uni-X Single Access Laparoscopic System for Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Uni-X(TM) Single Port Access Laparoscopic System is the first one-port laparoscopic system which consists of a single multi-cannula laparoscopic port and a variety of curved laparoscopic instruments. The system eliminates the need for additional ports, resulting in less morbidity, improved cosmesis, and reduced cost. The Uni-X(TM) requires minimal changes in current laparoscopic technique.
The system, which was invented by Dr. Gregory Piskun, Morganville, NJ is being offered by Pnavel Systems, Inc. Dr. Piskun performed and reported the first series of one-incision umbilical laparoscopic gallbladder removal in the scientific literature in 1999.
