Steven Engle Appointed Chairman of XOMA

BERKELEY, Calif., Oct. 8, 2007 (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- XOMA Ltd. (NasdaqGM:XOMA ), a leader in the discovery and development of antibody therapeutics, today announced the appointment of its Chief Executive Officer and President, Steven Engle, as Chairman of the Board of Directors effective October 5, 2007. Mr. Engle joined XOMA as its Chief Executive Officer and President and a Director in August 2007.

Mr. Engle succeeds John L. (Jack) Castello, who had been Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of XOMA. Mr. Castello announced his plan to retire in February 2007 and agreed in August to continue serving on the Board as its non-executive Chairman through a transition period.
