MARQUETTE, Mich., Oct. 11 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Pioneer Surgical Technology, a leading innovator in the design and manufacture of spinal and orthopaedic implants, announced that Terri Wells has joined Pioneer's spinal franchise as Vice President and General Manager.

Wells will provide overall leadership and direction for the Pioneer spine business and is responsible for achieving sales and growth objectives. Her role is to focus the organization on executing Pioneer's innovation strategy: bringing surgeon-driven, patient-focused products to market and distributing through a world-class sales team.

"Terri brings more than 19 years of medical device experience, business development and operational leadership to Pioneer Surgical," said Matthew N. Songer, M.D., Chairman and CEO of Pioneer Surgical Technology. "Her leadership qualities and industry knowledge make Terri a key asset to an already strong Pioneer team."

Prior to joining Pioneer Surgical, Wells was vice president of corporate solutions at Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics. "With a strong product pipeline, a willingness to invest in their future, and a reputation built on innovation, Pioneer Surgical is a strong company that continues to grow," said Terri Wells. "This is an exciting time to join Pioneer as they are poised to be a driving force in the spine implant world."

Wells has extensive experience in global marketing strategy, tactical channel support, intellectual property assessment/acquisition, and project design team partnership.
