Previously, Dan Bernarde served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Alphatec Spine. Additionally, he has held sales management positions at Interpore Cross International, Surgical Dynamics, and Cross Medical Products. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wis.).
Linda Golob was previously Director of Clinical Education for Applied Spine Technologies. She also has held positions at Endius, Stryker Biotech, and Sulzer Spine-Tech (Zimmer Spine). Ms. Golob holds an active RN (registered nurse) license, and served as Operating Room Orthopedic Specialty Manager for seven years at University of Minnesota Hospitals.
“We are delighted to have Dan Bernarde and Linda Golob join US Spine,” said Joseph Mussey, Chairman and CEO. “Dan has over 14 years of experience in growing and managing distribution networks in the spine implant space. He joins us at a very significant time in our corporate evolution, as we continue to build a strong sales group and distribution chain ahead of the roll-out of our Facet Fixation System, which we believe has the potential to change the way surgeons think about spinal fixation. Toward that goal, the establishment of a Professional Education Department is a very significant step forward for US Spine. Linda Golob is certainly well-known among spine surgeons, and her group will develop and implement a comprehensive training program to support our roll-out of the Facet Fixation System.”
US Spine announced last month that its novel Facet Fixation System won the “2007 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Differentiation Innovation”. This award is presented annually “to the company that has best demonstrated the ability to develop and/or advance products with more innovative capabilities than competing products ... Such innovation is expected to significantly contribute to the industry in terms of product performance and degree/rate of technical change,” according to Frost & Sullivan (www.frost.com). The FFS is the only ‘locking’ facet implant in the market.
US Spine is a privately held medical technology company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets proprietary spine implants that facilitate a less invasive approach to achieving tissue and motion preservation—thus yielding improved surgical outcomes, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times.
