IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 12 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Edwards Lifesciences Corporation (NYSE: EW ), a world leader in products and technologies to treat advanced cardiovascular disease, announced today the 2007 grant recipients from The Edwards Lifesciences Fund, a philanthropic, donor-advised fund the company established in 2005. As part of the Fund's third annual grant cycle, more than 60 charitable organizations received grants between $5,000 and $100,000, bringing the yearly total to more than $2.5 million.

"We are proud that this year we are more than doubling the amount of money granted in 2006, and are also increasing the number of organizations supported by our Fund by nearly 40 percent," said Michael A. humanitarian medical mission in Maputo and Dakar, Africa, for
providing much-needed cardiovascular care to this underserved
population.

-- A $100,000 grant to The Larry King Cardiac Foundation to support the
organization's goal to "Save a Heart a Day" by providing cardiac
treatment for individuals in the U.S. who, due to limited means or no
insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the care they need.

-- A $100,000 grant to the Alliance for Aging Research to fund physician
education about the under-diagnosis and under-treatment of aortic
stenosis and increase awareness about treatment options for seniors
suffering from this disease.

The Edwards Lifesciences Fund also awarded more than $300,000 in community grants in 2007, including:

-- Grants to the American Heart Association for the Orange County and
Puerto Rico Heart Walks, which will help generate funds for
cardiovascular research and education programs in these regions.

free cardiac surgery for patients in the Dominican Republic who cannot
afford treatment.

-- A grant to Goodwill Industries of Orange County to support the
Assistive Technology Institute, which was established to educate
public school teachers and parents about the latest communication
technology available to help children with disabilities.
