KARL STORZ and Global Care Quest Announce Extension of Marketing Agreement
Combining GCQ's ICIS OR Live(R) with Karl Storz OR1(R) Gives Surgeons Greater Access to Patient Data and Images in the Hospital, Office, or RemotelyALISO VIEJO, Calif., Nov. 27 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Global Care Quest, Inc. (GCQ), an innovator in critical health care systems, announces that KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, Inc., the world leader in minimally invasive endoscopic technologies and operating room integration, and GCQ have expanded their marketing relationship to offer GCQ's ICIS OR LIVE solution with KARL STORZ OR1® operating room integration technologies. The result of this collaboration will be to give operating room teams a customizable, comprehensive view of available video sources and image data for each surgical patient.
GCQ ICIS OR LIVE integrates a wide range of data from disparate information systems throughout the hospital, and through the KARL STORZ OR1® touchscreen user interface, this information can be displayed in optimal locations throughout the operating room to enhance a surgeon's clinical effectiveness. Surgeons can also gain remote access to this data, and with the OR1® system, all available video sources in the OR can be viewed remotely, including endoscopic and microscopic images, and surgical in-light and room camera views.
ICIS OR LIVE also provides the ability to configure PACS images. The surgeon can zoom, pan, tilt or rotate image displays, as well as change window/level contrast, do multi-slice scrolling, or switch from static to cine mode to view a patient's video data.
"Our relationship with GCQ extends our vision of providing true interoperability across OR technologies," says Connie Padden, Director of Technology Integration, OR1® KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, Inc. "The combination of the KARL STORZ OR1® solution and ICIS OR LIVE provides access to a greater range of image sources and video data, while optimizing the surgeon's ability to bring all of those sources and information to a single display, manipulate the display of information, and arrange the data to match the workflow and preferences of individual surgeons."
"KARL STORZ OR1® and ICIS LIVE are being combined to deliver faster access to information remotely and at the point of surgery, and enable clinicians to provide quicker and better patient care with improved outcomes," says Brian Mellea, Vice President, Marketing, GCQ. "They can manipulate the data as needed and see the information in a single glance. So, time once spent searching for data becomes time spent treating the patient. Surgical teams can now work the way they want to, making them more productive and effective. In addition, more efficient OR procedures mean greater OR utilization for hospitals."
