Naviscan PET Systems Announces New Commercial and Technology Leadership Team

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 7 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Naviscan PET Systems Inc., a privately held company specializing in the development of high-resolution PET scanners, announced today four senior appointments signaling a major thrust to underscore their leadership in Organ Specific Molecular Imaging. Skip Mendelson was named Vice President, Sales, Ashok Kaul, Vice President, Marketing, Guillaume Bailliard Vice President, Market Development and Christopher Matthews, Ph.D. was named Vice President, Technology. All four of these positions report directly to Paul J. Mirabella, President and CEO.

Mr. Mendelson has over 20 years of experience in Sales and Marketing of diagnostic medical imaging equipment. Prior to his current role at Naviscan, Mr. Mendelson served as Vice President of Sales at R2 Technology, a developer of Computer Aided Detection (CAD) software, and Trex/Lorad Medical Systems, a leading manufacturer of mammography and breast biopsy equipment. He began his career at GE Healthcare where he held positions in sales and sales management over an 8-year span.

Mr. Kaul has over 22 years of Healthcare experience in Marketing and Product Development with Abbott Labs, Medtronic, St. Jude Medical, GE Healthcare and Bacchus Vascular, where, most recently, he held the position of Vice President, Marketing. He began his career as a Product Development Engineer at GE Healthcare and progressed through positions in Sales, Marketing and Business Development until achieving the positions of Senior Director, Strategic Marketing and Vice President, Marketing.

Mr. Bailliard has 10 years of Healthcare experience. Most recently, he was the Americas X-Ray Sales Manager for GE Healthcare where he was responsible for a $230M business across multiple product lines in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. He is a graduate of the GE Leadership Program in addition to having success in a variety of Sales and Sales Management positions. He began his career as a design engineer for Genzyme Surgical. His new role at Naviscan will be focused on new growth opportunities in several new market areas and will provide additional long term growth for the company beyond their current market penetration.

Dr. Matthews has 12 years of Diagnostic Imaging experience, most recently as the Project Director, leading the development of multiple generations of PET/CT for Siemens Medical Solutions. In addition, Dr. Matthews has led product development and advanced R & D teams in Nuclear Medicine, PET and Molecular Imaging for CPS (CTI), Marconi (Picker) and Park Medical. He completed his Master's Degree and Ph.D. in Physics at the California Institute of Technology.
