James W. Richmond, Former Stryker Exec Joins Micronics' Board of Directors
Global Medical Device Marketing Experience Complements Company's Growth StrategyREDMOND, Wash.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Micronics, Inc., a leading developer of near patient, point of care molecular diagnostic products, announced today that James W. Richmond has been named to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Richmond joins Micronics pursuant to completion of the company’s Series B financing in which he participated.
“Jim brings to Micronics considerable expertise in product and marketing strategy at a time when the company is advancing its own unique clinical diagnostic products and international sales and marketing strategy,” said Karen Hedine, president and chief executive officer. “Jim’s significant contributions while at Stryker to that company’s global growth and recognition in the medical device industry will provide Micronics a wealth of knowledge and experience upon which we hope to draw. In addition to his election to Micronics’ Board of Directors, Jim will serve as a strategic marketing advisor to management.”
Mr. Richmond dedicated twenty years to the Stryker Corporation, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies with broad-based specialization in orthopedics and with a significant presence in other medical specialties. At Stryker, Mr. Richmond held various management positions that culminated in his role as Senior Vice President for Global Marketing and Development. He was instrumental in Stryker’s divisionalization and in the founding of several of Stryker’s current strategic business units, including the Stryker Endoscopy Division. After retirement from Stryker in 1987, he continued to serve as an exclusive consultant to Stryker’s CEO and Chairman for over fifteen years. Mr. Richmond is a graduate of Western Michigan University’s College of Business and attended the professional management program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
