News Release - February 4, 2008
Cook Medical Names Scott Dougall Vice President and North American Sales LeaderBLOOMINGTON, Ind.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Scott Dougall has been named vice president of Cook Medical Inc., the shared service provider for Cook Group’s North American operations, and took on a new role as the North American sales leader for Cook’s Critical Care strategic business unit beginning January 2008.
Since joining Cook in 1987, Dougall has held several positions within the Cook sales and marketing organization, beginning as a district manager for what is now Cook’s peripheral intervention unit. He transitioned to district manager of Cook’s cardiology division in 1993 for the launch of the Gianturco-Roubin Flex Stent, the first coronary stent marketed in the United States. After the US stent launch, Dougall supported sales efforts in Southeast Asia and served as marketing manager for Cook’s comprehensive line of cardiology products.
He returned to the peripheral intervention division as a regional sales manager in 1999 before relocating to Spain to lead PI’s sales and marketing effort in Europe.
“I am sad to leave behind a wonderful team in Europe,” says Dougall. “However, the chance to help make Cook’s Spectrum Antimicrobial Central Venous Catheter technology available to even more patients across North America is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Spectrum provides an unparalleled level of safety and assurance for patients who face the risk of catheter related blood stream infection. I am thrilled to participate in delivering the promise of this life saving technology.”
“We are very excited to have Scott back in the US,” remarked Cook Inc. president Kem Hawkins. “He had many successes in Europe and we look forward to his continued excellence in his new positions. Throughout his tenure with Cook, Scott has shown he is more than up to each new challenge. I am proud to welcome him to our executive team.”
“In addition to Spectrum, there are many exciting things happening in Cook’s Critical Care division in 2008. Cook’s Critical Care business unit impacts patient wellness on many fronts. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of that by leading the North American sales team,” added Dougall.
Dougall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Indiana University. He also earned Master of Business Administration degrees from both Columbia University and the University of London.
