Luminetx Names VP of Global MarketingMEMPHIS, Tenn.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Luminetx Corp. has named Christopher A. Schnee vice president of global marketing, further solidifying the Memphis-based company’s executive team and positioning Luminetx for major market expansion in 2008.
With more than 12 years experience in medical imaging and capital equipment, Schnee leads Luminetx’s product development, strategic brand and customer-focused marketing directives. He also spearheads clinical and customer service divisions and is responsible for international distribution and development needs.
“In the few months Chris has been a part of our leadership team, we already have experienced some significant company milestones in terms of market development and international strategy wins,” said Rodney Schutt, chief operating officer at Luminetx. “2008 is going to be a banner year for Luminetx, and Chris will play a significant role in that success.”
Before joining Luminetx, Schnee served as director of marketing for Austin, Texas-based Healthtronics, the leading provider of urological services and products in the United States. He’s also held management positions at Smith & Nephew and GE Healthcare.
Schnee’s priority since joining the company has been to focus the organization strategically on a data-driven approach to growth through discussions with the existing VeinViewer install base and heavy market analysis due diligence to strategically concentrate on key geographies and vertical markets. He says there also has been a large initiative to ensure the install base achieves maximum sustainable utilization of the VeinViewer device – ensuring that customers and patients alike receive the benefits of this “better way” to venous access.
“Our goal is to ensure that nurses, physicians and institutions which have adopted the VeinViewer solution achieve the value proposition the technology brings with it and to deliver on the three Rs – Return on investment, Reducing risk and achieving better patient Referrals,” Schnee said. “In the end, we want the VeinViewer to earn the right to be the standard of care for patients around the globe requiring venous access. The only people who want this more than us are the patients who have seen firsthand how much VeinViewer positively affects patient care.”
Under Schnee’s leadership, Luminetx has become positioned to enter international markets in a powerful way in the coming months with its premier product, the VeinViewer by Luminetx™. In December 2007, the technology received EC and ISO 13485:2003 certifications – thus allowing shipment to European countries and continuing the expansion of the Luminetx global strategy. His team has at least 20 distribution groups under evaluation, and the company is currently negotiating the first of many international distribution contracts. Overseas shipment will begin in the first quarter of 2008.
