Fifth Contract Awarded in Decade-Long Relationship

LEXINGTON, Mass., Sept. 30 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) today announced that it has been awarded a three-year contract for its critical care portfolio with Premier Purchasing Partners, LP, the group purchasing unit of the Premier healthcare network. This is the fifth contract Premier has awarded IL since 1998.

"Three years ago, Premier members supported our contracting committee's original decision to select IL, and this new agreement reflects their continued support," said Barbara Maillet, Sr. Director of Laboratory Services for Premier's Group Purchasing Services. "Our relationship with IL enables Premier members to access high-quality, cost-effective blood gas products and services. We look forward to offering those benefits for another three years."

The contract covers IL's portfolio of critical care analyzers, reagents, consumables and service, including IL's flagship product, the GEM® Premier(TM) 4000 analyzer for blood gas, electrolyte and metabolite and integrated CO-Oximetry testing. GEMweb® Plus software enables remote access to any networked analyzer for real-time status updates and supervision of remote locations.

"We are proud of our strong relationship with Premier that spans more than ten years, and are pleased that, once again, they have elected to renew our contract," said Brian Durkin, Director of Sales and National Accounts at IL. "Premier has a strong commitment to providing top quality patient care in a cost-effective manner, making our GEM Premier systems a perfect fit for their members."

In addition to the GEM Premier 4000, IL's contract with Premier includes the GEM Premier 3000 critical care analyzer, GEM OPL a portable CO-Oximeter, IL 682 CO-Oximeter. Also, the contact includes GEMweb Plus data management system and GEMweb software, for remote management of the GEM analyzers.
