Environmental Tectonics Corporation Announces the Placement of Two Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Oct. 6 (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (Amex: ETC ; "ETC" or the "Company") BioMedical Systems Division today announced the sale of two (2) BARA-MEDŽ XD Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ.

ETC is delighted to work with Saint Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey's oldest nonprofit, nonsectarian hospital. The 597-bed institution is one of the largest health care providers in the state.

Eric Carney, Assistant Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Saint Barnabas, stated "ETC was the clear choice as the BARA-MED XD allows for better patient comfort in both size and design. ETC has unsurpassed technology in their operating and recordkeeping system and I like how they are continuing the technological trend with the integration of their computer software with other wound care software providers."

The BARA-MEDŽ XD Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers are used in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO), which is a non-invasive procedure where the patient breathes 100% oxygen while fully enclosed in a specially designed chamber at increased atmospheric pressure. HBO is the primary treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning, arterial gas embolism and decompression sickness. It is also used to promote and support healing in the management of conditions in which oxygen transport to the tissues has been disrupted by traumatic injury, infection, inflammation, or edema.

ETC is the world's only manufacturer of a computerized monoplace hyperbaric chamber. The BARA-MEDŽ XD includes a 4th generation Windows(TM) based operating system with O.S.C.A.R. (TM) (Operating System for Control And Recordkeeping). With O.S.C.A.R. (TM) on your team, you eliminate the need for operator dive time management and paper recordkeeping while ensuring comprehensive documentation of the procedure. These features enable technicians to focus their attention on patient care and management, making your team more effective and efficient.

Bob Salmons, North Eastern U. S. Regional Manager for the BioMedical Division, commented, "We are finding more hospitals are turning to our technology in preparation of the upcoming changes in EMR (Electronic Medical Recordkeeping)."

ETC's BioMedical Systems Division's goal is to continue to be at the forefront of hyperbaric medicine and EMR with innovative new products and features like O.S.C.A.R. (TM).

ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems (aeromedical, tactical combat and general), disaster management training systems and services, entertainment products, sterilizers (steam and gas), environmental testing products, hyperbaric chambers and related products for domestic and international customers.
