New High Speed and High Resolution Micro CT to be Introduced Into North American MarketCHICAGO, ILLINOIS--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Dec 4, 2008 -- Dexas Laboratory Sciences is very proud to have established a strategic alliance with V.A.M.P. (Erlangen, Germany) one of the pioneers of micro computed tomography development. Dexas will distribute V.A.M.P.'s TomoScope«, one the world's most advanced micro-CT, in the North American market.
VAMP, a spin-off of the Institute of Medical Physics (IMP) at the University of Erlangen, was founded in 1997 by Prof. Dr. Willi A. Kalender. VAMP started designing dedicated micro-CT scanners in cooperation with the IMP in 1998. VAMP has successfully established itself as a niche provider for specialized solutions in computed tomography (CT) image reconstruction and processing. VAMP holds decisive patents and relies on the continued partnership with the IMP, known as a continuous source of innovations in the area of CT technology worldwide. VAMP has been successful as a small service enterprise and has expanded its range of activities towards micro-CT applications. VAMP provides multi-modality scanning capabilities by making their scanners' hard- and software compatible with small animal scanners of other imaging modalities, such as PET, SPECT, MR or optical scanners.
Even for in-vivo scans, TomoScope« family of scanners can achieve spatial resolution of less than 80 Ám. VAMP's expertise in signal processing, image reconstruction and scanner construction has led to co-operation with many partners, such as Siemens Medical Solutions.
The TomoScope« 30s DUO is one of the world's most advanced microCTs because of its unique Dual Source design providing the fastest scan times and allows material selective microCT.
Martin Hartford, Vice President of Dexas states that "Dexas is delighted to have to have the opportunity to represent the TomoScope« family of scanners in the U.S. and I feel that their exceptional scan speed and resolution will become an industry and study standard".
"We are proud that we will have the opportunity to sell our TomoScope« family of scanners in the US. They are designed to meet the highest scientific expectations and able to support advanced research programs", says Robert Hebel, CEO of VAMP.
Dexas sales and marketing staff have many years of experience in discovery and development of both proprietary and partnered products with proven expertise and capabilities to provide imaging solutions for most pre-clinical laboratory environments. Dexas is based in Markham, Ontario, Canada.
