Custom Spine Announces Lew Bennett as President

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Jan. 20 -- (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- Custom Spine announced today that Lew Bennett has been named President and will serve on the Board of Directors. Mr. Bennett brings with him over 48 years experience in the medical device industry. Having retired and re-entered the market six times, Mr. Bennett's love of a new challenge and dedication to the medical device industry is clear. Mr. Bennett has held senior executive positions with several companies in the orthopedic and spine industry including: Executive Vice President, Officer, and Board Member of NuVasive, Inc.; early investor, Executive Vice President, Officer and Director of Sofamor Danek (now a division of Medtronic, Inc.); President, General Medical Division, Smith & Nephew, Inc. and President of Dillion Manufacturing. In addition, he was one of the founders of Howmedica Corporation (now Stryker Howmedica Osteonics). Prior to founding Howmedica, he was Regional Manager for Ethicon Corporation, a division of Johnson & Johnson. Mr. Bennett currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Custom Spine and HydroCision.

Mr. Bennett's proven success and love of developing people have afforded him the opportunity to be the guest speaker at numerous medical conferences and to lecture at over 300 orthopedic and neurological resident programs. He has consulted for over 550 orthopedic and neurological practices and universities.
