New Contracts Focus on Reducing Costs and Delivering a Full Line of Premier DevicesBLOOMINGTON, Ind.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Through a strategic partnership between Cook Medical and Amerinet, 31,000 U.S. healthcare providers in 19 affiliate networks will gain access to Cook’s diverse portfolio of advanced medical devices. Four new contracts, launched on April 1, will build on the companies’ longstanding relationship to bring cost-effective, high-quality medical technology and devices to Amerinet’s extensive base of providers.
“We plan to roll out the new contracts in the next 90 days to meet the growing demand from hospitals and healthcare organizations within Amerinet’s alliance,” said Pete Yonkman, Cook’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We look forward to expanding upon our excellent relationship with Amerinet and are excited by their commitment to this unique partnership.”
The new contracts cover products within Cook’s peripheral intervention, interventional radiology, critical care, urology and endoscopy strategic business units, all of which were included in previous agreements, and provide for an increased focus on Cook’s industry-leading antimicrobial Spectrum(TM) Central Venous Catheter. Under the new agreement, Amerinet’s sales and marketing team will work more closely with Cook to enhance recognition of the Spectrum CVC among Amerinet members and to emphasize more broadly the clinical excellence and economic advantages of all Cook devices. Cook products offer considerable savings for customers, as well as greater convenience, speed and scalability.
Cook Medical signed Amerinet as its first group-purchasing organization in 1995 as part of a charter initiative to expand its product offerings and promote business solutions for healthcare providers. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., Amerinet is one of the nation’s leading purchasing organizations, holding relationships with many of the top hospitals, clinics, physicians and long-term care facilities in the country.
