Ohio Medical Corporation(R) Launches MoblVac(R), a Portable Pump System for Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
Company also announces launch of Ohiomedicalnpwt.comGURNEE, Ill., May 5 -- (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- Ohio Medical Corporation® introduced its new MoblVac® portable wound care pump system with TruSeal(TM) Link technology for negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) at the annual meeting of the Advanced Wound Care and Wound Healing Society (SAWC) symposium in Grapevine, TX last week.
Reaction was extremely positive from the physicians and nurses on-hand, who liked the design of a complete negative pressure wound therapy System with many timesaving features and benefits, a hallmark of Ohio Medical.
"At Ohio Medical, we understand vacuum technology - having provided wall vacuum regulators and portable vacuum pumps to leading health care institutions for over 50 years," said Dave Finney, president and CEO of Ohio Medical Corporation®. "Our research showed that users want a negative pressure wound therapy pump that is easy-to-use, cost-effective, and comes with a complete kit offering. We listened to both patients and clinicians and believe MoblVac® delivers on all accounts."
Finney added that the company's innovative TruSeal(TM) Link technology, found within the MoblVac® pump, helps "provide one of the highest flow rates available in wound care, regardless of the mmHg setting. This technology may be especially beneficial for larger size wounds, which can be more difficult to seal properly, and may also help overcome smaller peripheral leaks. Our research found that this was one of the more problematic issues for clinicians."
Dr. Riley Rees, Ohio Medical's new Chief Medical Advisor, commented, "It's great to have a new alternative for patients that's innovative and easy to use." Dr. Rees is a Professor in the Section of Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan and is the former Director of the University of Michigan Wound Care Program.
MoblVac® features easy to use push button navigation and an intuitive design. Some of the stand-out features include: Intermittent and continuous modes, a battery optimization mode which delivers up to 24 hours of continuous operation, a lightweight design for easy portability and a patent pending unique overflow detection system, among others. Given these features, MoblVac® is well suited for both hospital and non-hospital markets.
Plus, MoblVac's® system also includes a selection of comprehensive wound preparation kits to prep, dress and seal small, medium and large wounds. Each kit will be available with or without a silver-based antimicrobial product. In addition, if a leak should occur, Ohio Medical provides the TruSeal(TM) Link seal kit to help repair leaks.
