Hemostatic HemCon(R) Dressings selected by the Premier healthcare alliance for Hemostasis Products Contract
PORTLAND, Ore., Aug 18--(HSMN NewsFeed)--HemCon Medical Technologies, Inc. today announced that the hemostatic HemCon Patch(TM) and HemCon(R) Bandage were the only two products added to the Hemostasis Products category with Premier Purchasing Partners L.P., the group purchasing unit of Premier Inc. The contract is effective August 1, 2009 through Oct 1, 2011. The agreement makes HemCon dressings available at pre-negotiated terms to all 2,100 Premier hospital members through HemCon’s exclusive distribution partner, Cardinal Health.Through this new contract, Premier members will now have access to special pricing for HemCon dressings, which are intended to improve patient care following diagnostic and interventional vascular access procedures. The dressings offer safe and fast hemostasis with an effective antibacterial barrier against a wide spectrum of microorganisms including MRSA, VRE and Acinetobacter baumannii that may help to reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections.
