Spine Now, LLC Announces FDA 510(k) Approval of maxMorespine System(R) and USA Distribution Alliance with Hoogland Spine Products GmbH

Levittown, New York, November 10, 2009 - (HSMN NewsFeed) - Spine Now announced today at the North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting in San Francisco that the maxMorespine(R) System and Tom Endoscope (Hoogland Spine Products GmbH) received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The maxMorespine(R) System which enables precision, preservation and innovative functionality, is poised to set new standards in minimally invasive spine surgery.

Spine Now has entered an exclusive distribution alliance with Hoogland Spine Products for the maxMorespine(R) System in the USA. "We are excited to bring the maxMorespine(R) System into the U.S. market and believe this system will facilitate a safer, more efficient and cost-effective alternative to other systems." said Joan Carter, President of Spine Now and 18-year veteran of the minimally invasive spine market.

The maxMorespine(R) system was designed specifically for a posterorlateral transforaminal approach to perform a safe, targeted, foraminotomy for restoration of the spine neuro anatomy. The innovative, patented instruments provide access to all lumbar disc levels as well as versatile manipulation and treatment of disc pathology without unnecessary destabilization of the spine or intervertebral disc which results from open spine surgery.

Benefits of the maxMorespine(R) system include; local anesthetic, same-day surgery, small incision, muscle splitting not cutting, avoids destabilization of the spine, targets 'pain generators'; which preserves surrounding anatomy and thus function, reduced post-operative discomfort, less scar tissue formation and an earlier return to a productive lifestyle.

The maxMorespine(R) System, manufactured by Hoogland Spine Products GmbH (Munich, Germany) is the result of pioneer and inventor Dr. Thomas Hoogland. Dr. Hoogland has performed over 13,000 minimally invasive spine procedures and has incorporated his extensive expertise in the design of the maxMorespine(R) System and the philosophy of the procedure.

Spine Now is a privately held, medical device company focused on the commercialization of innovative minimally invasive spine technology to address the expanding MIS spine market. Spine Now strives to be the leader in endoscopic spine technology through innovation, education and exemplary customer service.
