Cook Pharmica Names Veda Walcott Vice President of Quality
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Veda Walcott has been named vice president of quality and corporate compliance officer of Cook Pharmica, the global biopharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing division of Cook Medical. She has been an employee of Cook Pharmica since 2005, and in her new role will be responsible for leading Cook Pharmica’s quality and compliance programs and will oversee regulatory and validation support activities.Walcott’s diverse background in quality roles encompasses experience in both the clinical laboratory and biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing settings. Trained as a clinical laboratory scientist, Walcott’s biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing experience includes quality management roles at Baxter BioPharma Solutions (formerly Cook Pharmaceutical Solutions) and at Barnard Associates, a life sciences advisory firm. Since joining Cook Pharmica, Walcott has led the development of the quality organization and quality systems to support contract manufacturing of mammalian cell culture-based biopharmaceuticals and the recent additional service offering of parenteral formulation, filling and finishing of drug products.
