KCI Appoints Kien Nguyen Vice President of Global Marketing for Active Healing Solutions
Will Oversee Global Market Development for Negative Pressure Technology PlatformSAN ANTONIO--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI ) announced today that Kien Nguyen has been appointed vice president of global marketing for its largest business unit, Active Healing Solutions™. Nguyen will be responsible for leading a global organization focusing on international strategy and market development for KCI’s Negative Pressure Technology Platform, which includes KCI’s world-renowned V.A.C.® Therapy system.
“Kien will play a vital role in expanding KCI’s wound-healing technologies to meet the needs of patients and clinicians in a growing number of markets worldwide,” said Mike Genau, global president of Active Healing Solutions™. “His unique expertise in the scientific and clinical applications of wound healing, along with his diverse marketing background, will be extremely valuable to KCI as we continue to grow our global pipeline.”
As Kien further develops the marketing division, his focus will be to extend KCI’s heritage of matching the best technologies with areas of clinical need to make its therapeutic products more available around the world.
KCI is rapidly expanding its global presence, recently introducing its signature V.A.C.® Therapy system in Japan, the world’s second-largest medical device market. In Europe and Canada, KCI launched the first and only powered negative pressure product designed specifically for management of surgically-closed incisions, the Prevena™ Incision Management System. Other emerging products include ABThera™, an innovative negative pressure system designed to help manage open abdominal wounds.
Nguyen joined KCI in September 2007 as vice president of portfolio management, where he helped develop KCI’s current product pipeline. Most recently, he served as KCI’s vice president of global research. Prior to joining KCI, he held key leadership positions with Ethicon, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company.
Nguyen holds a master of business administration from Columbia Business School and a doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Colorado. He is a native of Rochester, Minn.
