ThermoGenesis Names Leading Healthcare Industry Executive David Carter to Board of Directors
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif., May 6 (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- ThermoGenesis Corp. (Nasdaq:KOOL ), a leading supplier of innovative products and services that process and store adult stem cells, said today that David W. Carter—who has decades of healthcare industry experience—has been named to the Company's board of directors. His appointment brings the Company's total number of directors to six.Carter co-founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Xenogen, a publicly traded biotechnology company that was later merged into Caliper Life Sciences. Prior to that he served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Somatix Therapy Corporation, a publicly traded gene therapy company that was acquired by Cell Genesys, and was President and Chief Operating Officer of Northfield Laboratories, a publicly traded company developing hemoglobin blood substitutes.
Carter also held senior management positions with American Hospital Supply Corporation, Sybron Corporation and Esmark Corporation. He holds a B.A. in History and an M.B.A. in Management from Indiana University.
